President’s Message 2023

Fiona Chiu
President
Rosyth School Parent Support Group

Dear Parents,

As we kick off 2023, I would like to welcome our returning and new students, with their families, to the new school year. On behalf of Rosyth School Parent Support Group, I would also like to welcome Mr Suraj Nair, our newly appointed Principal of Rosyth School as well as Mdm Tan, our newly appointed Vice Principal.

It is my first year as PSG President, after serving as an exco member for the past 4 years. I am humbled and inspired by my predecessor- Ms Eunice Tay along with past members and school leaders as they have done a wonderful job supporting our school and students through the years. The unwavering support from school leaders as well as constant engagements have allowed us to contribute meaningfully and I truly believe that at PSG, we can play a part in creating a strong and trusting parent-school partnership at Rosyth.

Moving from the shadows of Covid 19, we are thankful for the gradual resumption of school activities and events from last year.  This means that we have the chance to be involved in school events and activities as parent volunteers under the Parent-Involvement-Program (PIP). It allows us a first hand experience to interact with Rosythians through activities such as crafting, mental wellness booths, interclass games, care carnival and many others. These make wonderful conversation starters with our own children and I strongly urge you to participate and experience this meaningful participation by signing up for PIP.

Our weekend enrichment programs were also able to resume in March 2022. Competing teams in Badminton, Wushu and Taekwondo have managed to compete in the various inter school games and competitions, clinching medals and recognition. It is indeed an encouraging kick-off for our Rosythians as the weekend enrichment program is a platform that allows our children to further explore and excel in their areas of interests. We hope that through the weekend enrichment program, we can help cater to our children’s interest and broad based holistic learning needs at a familiar environment, convenient location and affordable rates.

I am certainly looking forward to an exciting 2023. I hope that over the next year, we will have a chance to get to know more of our fellow Rosythians. I have personally gained support, advice, meaningful insight and friendships through this parent-support-group and hope that in one way or another, we can continue to be a strong parent network for each of you.  Till then, have a wonderful year ahead.

Sincerely,

Ms Fiona Chiu
